Guarantee it must be safe, Maybe not

In affiliate marketing you see it all the time, 30 day ,60 day, or even 90 day money back guarantee. Is it really worth anything or are these companies just trying to make you “feel all warm and toasty inside”? When it comes down to it will you get your money back, or will you get the run around. Chances are it will be the run around.
The Scams
Just about every site that is trying to sell you something, especially informational product sites, give you an unconditional money back guarantee. The reason is it makes you feel good. Helps build trust with them. They start out saying how wonderful their product is and it only cost you $xx.xx for this limited amount of time, so you better hurry. Then they switch to the guarantee. Just in case you don’t like it, you have nothing to lose.
The guarantee makes you more confident about their trustworthiness. When you see a company touting its guarantee rather than showing you the product, they might just be foreshadowing that you are not going to like it. That sometime in the future you are not going to want that product and that it will not live up to your expectation.
Companies with information products that are mailed can be another big warning. Think about all the steps and the time it takes for them all to happen.
- You order the product, usually 2-3 business days processing
- Shipping takes another 2-7 days
- You get your product and try it out say 10-15 days
- You decide you don’t like it and want to return it 2-3 days
- You mail it back 2-7 days.
If you are very quick to decide and do everything on the quick side you are in the minority but have just used 18 days. Chances are you did not get it done in the least amount of time. Maybe you chose standard shipping, or the product sat at home for a while before you even started taking a look at it. Return shipping is at your cost so you send it normal mail. The total time is 35 days. Wow that went fast that is exactly what they want you to do.
Clickbank
While there are some good Clickbank products out there many of them are of lower quality and just about every one of them shows you their polished, shiny guarantee. They push it so hard and let you know it is unconditional. You might even see statements like, “if you don’t make at least $XX.xx I will personally give you $XXX.xx.” There are so many caveats to that I don’t know where to start. I guess the quick way to explain the last statement is there are so many loopholes they can get out of paying you that money and that you will never see it.
If their product is so good, why do you have to buy it? Why can’t you just try it then buy it if you like it? That is a great question. I know what you are thinking, if I trying why would I ever buy it. Well there is an easy way to do that. They can give you a free trial membership that is only good for a set number of days. They can also give a lower tier of their intro product. One note here, lower tier does not mean lower quality.
Why not try it first
Some of the best products out their let you try it first. Think about any electronic store or department. You can walk in pick up the phone and see if you like it. You can take a look at it and touch it. You can, with some limits of course, see how well the product works. They even have rows of televisions that are on so you can see how beautiful the product’s picture is.
You say that is a physical product how does that have anything to do with internet marketing products. Well very simply, my belief is you can do this with any product. Give the same high quality product but just not as much of it at a trial level. Once a person discovers if the product meets their needs they can then make an informed decision to purchase the product.
