K Money Machine, Overview

This is a product that teaches its members how to create a small publishing empire through outsourcing the making of eBooks then publishing them under pen names on Amazon for e-readers.  The “K” stands for Kindle, Amazon’s reader.  Amazon sells eBooks to more than just the Kindle reader so the market is fairly large. Time for the Question: Is K Money Machine a scam?  Read on to see what I think and why.

The Good and the Bad

Good

While he does not offer a free trial he does offer a discounted trial.  This is a good thing as at least it reduces the risk of your loss to $7 for a 7 day period to see if the product is not right for you.  I would prefer to see a free trial even if it is only for a few days to see if it is really worth the price of the monthly subscription, but it is what it is.Is K Money Machine a scam

They do set up a good way to begin making some money on Amazon with eBooks and they outline.  This process will require a fairly large investment and time to recoup your money.  I do like that it is a long term strategy not something you do quickly and make a million dollars right away.

Bad

Well I hinted at one of the biggest drawbacks of the program above.  You will be required to make a good sized investment in your company.  What do I mean by that?  The suggestion is that you have a minimum of 10 eBooks published.  Okay you say but you’re not a writer and don’t know the first thing about it.  What the program promotes is to outsource all of the writing to sites like Upwork (formerly Odesk) and pay $100 for the writing of the book that should be 10,000 words.  You can find writers but they may not be the best writers for that price.  The reality is to find good writers it will cost you between $175 and $300 per book depending on the subject.

Make money with ebooksAs you can see 10 books at $175 is $1750 plus you will still have to do the book cove and formatting.  You may also have to edit the work as well as spend some time on marketing.  It will take work, but any business would take work.  Now using ghost writers is nothing new, many people use them successfully, don’t think there will not be any work involved.  This is not a push button system, but then again if it were my ranking would probably be lower.

You would have to brand yourself as a publisher not a writer and focus on that end of the business.  Nothing wrong with that but there may be pitfalls along the way.  Jason states he had a request from one of his books to appear on a television show.  He had to turn it down because he knew nothing of the subject, because he did not write the book.  Okay, I suppose he could have gone on the show if he read the book, but then again he did not fit the profile of his writer, who was an Indian woman.  That makes things a bit tough.

The other thing I don’t like about the product is that there is an elite members area, in other words once you pay your $97 you will be asked to pay more.  Can we say up sell?  That coupled with the additional price of the services you will need to purchase is just not a good combination.

Finally once inside there is not a member’s area, you are unable to interact with other members, ask questions of Jason or anyone else.  Sure there is a customer support area, more on that later.  It is nice to be able to interact and ask questions especially when you are first starting out.  You really need that help in order to succeed.

customer service

Customer Support

The customer support is mainly for technical issues within the website and billing.  They are responsive.   Once again you have no support from a community though, which to me is very important.

Who is K Money Machine For?

This is for anyone who wants to build an additional revenue stream, but has funds to get started.  Remember you will have to pay a hefty amount of money in order to get started.  Think of them as start-up costs for your business as a publisher.  You really cannot consider yourself a writer because that is not what you are doing.  I suppose you could write the books yourself but this course would not really help you, it is more for people who want to outsource the writing part.

how much does it cost

K Money Machine Price

The basic member ship is $97.  There is a 7 day trial for $7 then you will be automatically billed for the balance $37 per month end of the 7 days.  I know that makes no sense, what about the $97 you pay up front.  To be honest I don’t know. I am not sure how they figure the different price ranges.  But that is what it is.

My Final Opinion of K Money Machine

While I do like that the program is set up for a long term strategy, I don’t like that you have to pay for additional things as well as the up sell.  I hate them.  I would like to have seen a free version for people to see if it is a good fit for them, but the reduced price is nice.  Support from a community is lacking which is something else I would like to see.  Finally the fact that you will have to fork over a lot of cash up front and it will take a long period of time to recoup the funds is a bit of a turn off for me.  I am sure that you can make money on this program over time, but for me it just isn’t worth it.  You can still give it a try here if you want to see if it is right for you.

Scan AlertScam 4/10

Making money online doesn’t have to cost you a fortune; you can get started by building two websites for free, with training for free.  You may want your own domain for around $11 per year, and I would recommend getting your own domain.  See how I learned to build an online business with my top recommendation.

    Hi Marc

Interesting review. I have never heard of this product although it sounds a good idea if you have a lot of money to invest.

Also I would prefer to do my own writing rather than employ a “ghost” writer.

As you say, it could be good if you wanted to start a publishing organisation and didn’t mind about the cost.

Like you, I hate up sells. It puts me off immediately and the word “scam” jumps immediately to mind.

    Thanks for the warning!
    Regards

I am not sure that I could sit down and write a 10000 word book, but who knows. I felt this product was not for me so I wanted to share with everyone else. If people are interested they can always try for themselves.

Up sells put me off too and the fact the price structure is a little strange, I still dont fully understand that part.

I think that any sort of online earning product that manages to fit ‘money’ and ‘machine’ into the title needs to be avoided at all costs.
From what you say here this one doesn’t look that bad but it still has a few dodgy elements. For the price of $97 would you say that this is probably set out for the maker to make money and not the purchaser?

      Chris,

I agree if a company has the word “money” or words “push button”, I cringe a bit. The price point is a bit confusing to me and I have run through the process. If you go in through the original page it is $97, but does not mention reoccurring. Then there is a trial version for $7.00, but then it is $37 a month. Then there is also the up sell to make things more confusing.

      Thank you for the comment.

Sounds like a waste of money and time. I think if people really want to set up a small ebook publishing, they can find writers who have trouble with the whole publishing side and collaborate.

I am also sure there are other programs and helpful websites out there that can assist with the same thing, but don’t try to rob you in the process.

Thanks for sharing this review. I hope it helps many avoid wasting their time, money and energy!

I think overall it might work but you need to put up a lot of money to really build it up and become successful. I think most people dont have that kind of money. There are so many better programs out there to become successful online.

      Thanks you for the comment.

Very interesting post about the K Money Machine.

I’m a write and I’ve been publishing eBooks and print books on Amazon and other retailers since 2008.

The publishing process is quite easy and straightforward on just about all platforms. Anyone can do it and, believe me, they do.

I don’t really understand what you actually get for your money with this program. If you can’t write you have to pay to outsource the work. If you can’t create your own cover or edit, you have to pay to outsource the work.

I know the online publishing industry inside out. What exactly does K Money Machine do for you except relieve you of your money?

      Daren,

Great question. There are so many resources out there that you can utilize that are free and in my opinion are just as good.

Thank you for your comment and your experience with publishing online.

Jason is a scam artist and thief don’t order from him! He has F Grade on BBB with multiple complaints stating he does not fulfill orders and keeps money, refuses to answer customer complaints via phone or email. This happened to me on his online Knockout Knucks business. Ordered 3 Knucks and he sent me 2 and kept $40.00. Refuses to respond to any of my emails and phone rings busy off the hook. BBB says he isn’t even a member where Jason claims he is with A+ BBB Rating, Jason is a fraud! BBB contacted Jason to have him remove BBB logo from website but he hasn’t done so. They have an alert out on his fraudulent company for investigation. See all the BBB complaints here about con artist Jason!

      Keith,
Thank you for your comment and your opinion. I had to remove your link as it was for something other than the business at hand. I am not sure if it is the same Jason or not. The situation you are discussing has to do with Brass Knuckles. I appreciate your passion about the situation and that you have an issue with the company, but it is hard to move forward with more of this due to the nature of the post being about brass knuckles.
Do you have any experience with K Money Machine? If so please feel free to add them to keep the topic on point.
      Thank you very much.
