Inbox University, Overview
Desmond Ong has been around for quite a while and proclaims to give you the secrets to how he went from poor to being a multi-millionaire in just a few short years. He has many products out there. This one will teach you how to build an email marketing empire, just like he did. This is done in with a 5 course module system. They talk about many things including step by step process on how to replicate his system and how to scale up. But is Inbox University a scam?
The Good and the Bad
Good
The good news is there is all kinds of information on Desmond Ong and the fact that he has made millions of dollars on the internet. He has many giveaways in his programs. These are typically the books he has published in the past. The second level membership states you have access to Desmond and his team to help mentor you. I am not so sure that this is directly with Desmond. He also continually pushes his money back guarantee. Pushing money back guarantee normally says to me that you won’t like it, not to mention it is a red flag to me. But hey that is just my opinion.
He always has high quality videos on his sites. The intro video on the sales page is nothing short of his normal style and quality. The best part of his intro video on the sales page is that there is no sales pitch on the video, it is purely an inspirational video. On his sale page he does have several testimonials.
Bad
He talks about how he was so poor and had to work as a busboy at at restaurant. Then he started internet marketing and started seeing commissions like this:
Wait a minute you stated you started 5 years ago but doesn’t that say 2015 on it, isn’t it 2015 now? I think this is kind of sneaky there buddy. Who’s proof of earnings are those? Not saying they are not his but just seems a little strange to me. Don’t get me wrong I am sure many people would love to see commissions like that in their account. Showing large amounts of money being made quickly red flag number 2
He shows you all the flash of his lifestyle and focuses on that rather than substance on his sales page. That is a red flag number 3. Stating you only need to spend about 20 minutes or a day to generate $100-$2000 , makes it this the quick and easy red flag number 4. In my mind it takes time to build a business. There are so many next shinny objects out there, and I believe this is just another one.
Customer Support
I did send them an email and at the time of writing this post, now more than 72 hours, I have not received a response. This was not through his member area, but I am not sure that the member’s area response would be any better. Another interesting point to me and red flag number 5.
Who is Inbox University For?
The idea of the program is for a beginner to learn how to duplicate exactly what Desmond Ong has done and be successful. I personally can’t recommend this product.
Inbox University Price
There are three price tiers $47. $97, and $197 for access to his system.
My Final Opinion of Inbox University
I personally would have a hard time recommending this program. I understand that there will be those that disagree; this of course is my opinion. If you still want to give it a try, by all means please do so right here.
I believe there are much better ways to earn money online and learn how to build a successful business. If you are interested in building a retail store online you can try Salehoo, and if you just want to learn how to build a sustainable online business of any kind, you can read my review of my top recommendation.
If you have any of your own personal experience, comments or questions; please leave them below.
Hi Marc,
Your post on Inbox University gave me a good giggle!! I find it quite funny that someone would host a giveaway promoting themselves, like Desmond! Your post was an easy, smooth read. You made some very good points. The fact that Desmond’s earnings from 5 years ago appear to be in 2015. Some people! I think your assessment of that “University” is spot on!!
Valerie
Valerie,
Thank you for the comment. My point about the earnings, as I said in response to an other person’s comment was that I think he should have shown the progression rather than just a few days earnings. He actually is somewhat of a celebrity in the internet marketing world. However, I am not sure which came first the chicken or the egg. I mean did he make most of his money through his own products, of which he has many, or did he make it through affilliate marketing.
Marc
Excellent page as usual Marc. Your site is of great value in helping to avoid some serious mistakes.
The Pro’s and Con’s help me get a great understanding by giving me an idea of both ends of the spectrum. I feel like I can make a more informed opinion myself then.
Screenshots are very valuable too. Images are so important to me but you don’t always get them in reviews.
About inbox university, I wonder how good the mentoring is within the second level? Would the support be there when needed?
Also, like you say, who’s earnings are they? Could be completely made-up. Should be more examples of real earnings.
Not enough evidence of the inner workings I feel. The potential customer is expected to be convinced by the flashy achievements of the owner/seller.
Thanks heaps for the review Marc, I totally agree with your rating of 2/10. Jamie.
Jamie,
Thank you for the comment as well as the compliment.
I have to say, that I do believe they are his earnings as he is considered by many to be a guru. My opinion is he should show the progress from 5 years ago to present not just a snippet of a few days. They could be made up as well but I think they are real.

Hi Marc,
I enjoyed reading your review to realize how crappy it would be actually investing in the Inbox University. In addition, you are right maybe someone out there will actually benefit from the products and the programs. Glad to see # 1 recommendation is Wealthy Affiliate, truly is a great program with lots of great people.
Yours Truly,
Carlton
Carlton,
Thanks for your comment and the support. I really appreciate it. Please let me know if there is anyway I can help you.

Hey, cool to finally see someone writing REAL review. There are so many fake reviews out there. By the way, just forget about Desmond Ong. I was his ex-employee. I know I shouldn’t do it, but I can’t accept things he does!
How come I worked for him? Because I felt that everyghing was real, he told me that’s a company that creates products to change life.
You can simply ignore my message, but yea, it goes against my principle to badmouth other. But I can’t accept some of the things he does (simply because he’s richer)
Well thanks for giving your opinion of the program. Since I am unable to confirm some of the thing you stated as fact, I had to edit some of your statements. I try to give my opinion of things and they way I see them. It might work for some people and might not work for others.
Thanks again for your comment.
Marc
You’re making some very valid points in your review of Inbox University. What I really don’t like is their 3 tier price. Also the fact that they haven’t responded in 72 hours is quite worrying. I personally like Wealth Affiliate program which you can try for free before you pay anything.
Sandy,
Thanks for the comment. Some people dont like the 3 tier pricing some people do. I think it really depends on the product itself. Sometimes it is a good thing for a product. Think about Apple for example. Apple has a tier pricing in place. Let me explain, the iphone, the mini ipad, the ipad, the apple note book, and the apple desktop. They are all at different prices and they all build on one another.
The biggest issue I have is the 72 hours, um still no response. I am glad you found WA and you are enjoying it.
