Wow, I can’t believe it is already coming up on 2018.  So the question is will Wealthy Affiliate still work in 2018?  There are so many things to talk about that have changed in 2017 and continuous improvements made.  I am one of the top rated people in Wealthy Affiliate.  In fact, I am in the top 100 of tens of thousands of people.  So sit back and read away at the changed that have happened and 2017.

The cost did go up ever so slightly this year but if you were already a member you were grandfathered in.  The cost change was $2 so it is not likely to break the bank.  These extra fees were for a number of reasons.  More on that following this paragraph.

You can still host up to 25 domains and 25 subdomains included with your premium membership.  But now you can have you 25 domains listed as HTTPS.  This is at no additional cost.  Just to have one domain hosted as HTTPS it can cost an extra $100 or more a year for the certificate.  You get it here for free!

There are a number of reasons you would want to have your sites as HTTPS.  The first being that they tend to have a better ranking when your site is HTTPS.  The higher the ranking the more traffic you will get to your site.  The more traffic, the more potential customers.

Another reason is that seeing the secured site builds credibility.  People have a higher level of trust with your site if you have the HTTPS secured site vs an unsecured HTTP.

Hosting your site at WA is included in your membership and you get a free HTTPS certificate with your premium membership.  Why not take advantage of that? If you only have a few sites that are HTTPS it could pay for your annual membership.

Content Creator

There is so much more here than I ever used.  To be honest until this post I never used the content creator.  So why did I try it?  Well, it is something new and I wanted to see what all the hype was about.  To be honest, I do like it so far, but I wish there were a few other things included in it such as changing the color of the text, but really that is about it.

The thing that really drew me to try it was the fact that it has over 1,000,000 creative commons images.  That is right I said over a million images that you can use without worry of copyright infringement.  This is available to premium members.

One of the hardest things to do is to find good images that are relevant to your posts.  No longer is this the case with the upgrade to the content creator.  Now it is as simple as clicking on the photo icon at the top of the creator and simply running a search in the drop-down menu.  The images are great quality!

You can, of course, use your own images still and simply upload them as you normally would.  I personally am not a wiz at photography so I really appreciate the ability to quickly scan for great free images.  Once you chose the image you can simply edit, crop and even add alt text to improve your search engine rankings!  So success is yours, just go get it!

Speed Increased

Wealthy Affiliate has a proprietary program that they run over your website to ensure that your site loads fast.  The best part about it is that it is free.  Another great thing about it is that it is not done through a plugin.  Too many plugins can slow your site down and add extra fluff that does not increase your readers’ experience.

Not having to add yet another plugin to make your site faster is a welcome addition.  This allows you to keep your plugins to a minimum while giving your readers the best experience possible.

What is just one way to give your users a bad experience?   Having a lot of spam on your site.  Well, The Kyle and Carson continue to work tirelessly to stop the spam on your site.  Another overlay program that they have on their system that does not require a plugin.With the new features of stopping spam dead in its tracks, you can rest at ease and just focus on the important things when creating your business.Things like creating content, answering your readers’ questions, and helping people in general.

I think there are many things to consider if you are just starting out in affiliate marketing or building a business online.  You need several things to succeed, not just a one-time course but one that evolves with time.  Wealthy Affiliate continues to evolve and update training.  Let’s not forget everything else that I have discussed in past posts about the program.  This is the reason it is my top recommendation and still remains to be after almost 3 years of being with the program.
